I don't remember how I ran across it, but I'm glad I did! Book Adventure is a FREE website that offers an incentive for kids to read. After reading a book, your child goes online, answers a super short quiz about it and then earns prizes. What's not to love? It's free, knocks out the issue of reading comprehension, and offers something fun in the end. We absolutely love our library and I love that by utilizing this website, we can turn any of the books my son picks out into a mini lesson. As it stands, I already ask him questions after he finishes one of his books to see if he comprehended what he was reading -- this will cover that! Plus, he'll earn points to work towards a prize! We haven't officially used it yet, but I plan to do so when school starts...
